@nikomatsakis For dependence analysis, I really like the Allen and Kennedy book (http://www.amazon.com/Optimizing-Compilers-Modern-Architectures-Dependence-based/dp/1558602860 …).
Any suggestions for a good book/survey paper on vectorization/auto-parallelization? @herhut do you have a favorite?

@lindsey thanks, I've wondered about that book

@nikomatsakis however, for languages like rivertrail, you won't need dependence analysis and many of the things that make vectorization hard -
@herhut hmm, it's true, I had thought we'd need more analysis than we probably will.

@nikomatsakis for auto vectorization, I liked chapters 4/5/6 of http://www.intel.com/intelpress/sum_vmmx.htm …. A bit dated maybe but very concise, yet instructive.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@nikomatsakis take a look at http://www.cdl.uni-saarland.de/projects/wfv/ and https://github.com/downloads/ispc/ispc/ispc_inpar_2012.pdf … for compilation of more rivertrail like languagesThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
