    I was a new grad student and LL2 was my first tech conf. Joe Erlang’s talk started with cheekily tossing a glove on the floor and saying “I’m throwing down the gauntlet: can your language do this?” He’s inspired generations to dream about what programming can be. Thank you, Joe.
