I've heard native german speakers use this fairly frequently, it generally means "odd" or "stands out" in this context. I don't know where it comes from though. I hadn't heard people using it in that context before moving here (grew up in midwest US)
It means .. yeah, "odd" or "unsettling". Like someone is creeping up on you (sneaking behind you). In this case, what I meant more precisely is that it is sometimes hard to predict their full effects on the grammar.

Thanks for clarifying! I'm not generally a fan of having ten levels of obscurely-named precedence-driven rules, but yeah, the tricks to introduce precedence parsing into grammar-driven parsers aren't unproblematic either

I wanted to introduce some form of syntactic sugar that would expand to the multiple precedence levels in a controlled way, but I haven't really had any time to do LALRPOP hacking -- or even maintenance! -- in a long time. :(
