To connect to your Linux laptop you can install any number of windows subsystem for Linux environments. I use Ubuntu on my wife’s surface book. This way you get all your Linux remote tools for free

WSL (Windows subsystem for Linux) and/or VirtualBox are probably the first things come to mind.

You can SSH into WSL, and mosh has resolved any issues: https://github.com/Microsoft/WSL/issues/170 … I edit on windows and test on a remote linux box with a simple rsync trigger. Biggest rust issue you'll face is Windows Defender scanning .cargo, etc way too aggressively, but you can exempt them.

WSL/OpenSSH of course, but what annoys me the most on Windows is the lack of a decent terminal, CMD/powershell still act weird with vim. ConEmu/Cmder help.
