A simple comparison between places that had mask mandates vs no mandates, as well as an analyses of cases after mask mandates came into being should dispel all doubts. Most people cannot comprehend the size of a virus. It is basically a large molecule.

Any mask that can stop a virus is going to make breathing incredibly difficult due to air resistance.

Stopping naked virus particles isn’t the goal. Stopping the aerosol and larger respiratory droplets that carry the virus particles, which are MUCH larger, is. 🙄🤦🏻‍♂️

Also melt-blown masks don't work like tiny sieves, ...also sarscov2 is 300x the diameter of oxygen, it's not 'basically the size of a molecule.' How is this still a conversation?

This tweet reflects a profound ignorance of the science. As well as boundless arrogance and egotism. It is a Dunning-Kruger tweet.

Now that's a scientific argument. 🙄 The bottom line is lab studies showing droplets are blocked by masks fail to show that public masking has any benefit. Anyone who understands science AND public policy should get this. An policy intervention that only works in the lab ->

That's the very definition of a straw man argument. Not only have I not compared the size of a virus particle with an Oxygen molecule, I have not even mentioned oxygen. Biological molecules come in a range of sizes, and viruses fall within that range.
