The organizers on our slate played key roles in building & winning major campaigns like #BuildPublicRenewables. The kind of uncompromising transformation only DSA can win.
But that's only half of it.

TIL in 2022 BK community district 2 voted with one abstention to approve construction of two (2) brand-new single family mansions + a parking spot in a vacant lot and the only questions were about material and color.
(went to committee bc landmarked district)
This is the contradiction at the heart of the American dream: when America turned its back on organized labor as an engine for creating prosperity and embraced property speculation, it set itself on the road to serfdom.

IRA presents an opportunity to experiment with “public power as an alternative to for-profit energy. While for decades only private companies were able to use renewable energy tax credits, public providers can now take advantage of an uncapped pool of funds” through direct pay.
From @KateAronoff: there's a lot in the IRA that the climate left can take as a win, and a lot more to do.
"A product of the left having shifted the debate on climate and economic policy is that it’s also created a new organizing challenge for itself."

representation matters. get yourself a socialist who cares & fights for the public good
City streets are places of work just as much as they are for general passage. Delivery drivers -- whether truck, car, or bike -- need and deserve workplace protections on the street, the same as they deserve them inside.
Absolutely broken by the death of Adam Uster. Two young kids have lost their dad and an entire community of people are grieving all because elected officials don't care about anything other than parking.
"centrists" and cop apologists love fair gates bc they are like little traps. someone jumped fare? well clearly they don't care about law and order and could commit a more serious crime.
so why get rid of foregates when they can be used to literally gatekeep criminality?
Mayor Blacklisting socialist electeds for criticizing the police, Governor prioritizing rolling back bail to lock up more black and brown people, vigilante murder of homeless on our subways, gutting schools/libraries/services/public transportation
Really fucking bleak
Today Mayor Adams, talking to a right-wing radio host, agreed that Tiffany Cabán should be blacklisted from city services for criticizing the NYPD. This is an anti-democratic attempt to silence CM Cabán, and plays into a long history of redbaiting and blacklisting socialists twitter.com/NYCProgressive…
friendly reminder that not only will NYPD cops stand and watch people get repeatedly stabbed while trying to stop an actual murderer, they'll sue for the right to do it.
this vigilante murder is entirely the result of the political environment that adams, hochul, conservatives suburbanites, billionaire opportunists who stoked the crime panic and the goons at the post have methodically built https://twitter.com/nypost/status/1653534787741646849…
Jordan Neely was a New Yorker.
He was a person.
When he began to suffer from mental illness the city’s social safety net failed him, as it had failed countless others.
When he exhibited signs of his mental illness in public he was murdered on the F train.
Rent Guidelines Board has voted on preliminary range of increases for rent-stabilized tenants
