I slowly feel dumber and dumber in my native language.
I consume most of my content in English — I even learn Japanese from English sources.
Last month, I got to read a few short books in French. It's probably something I'm going to do a bit more.
Anyone else w/ this problem?
Finally got back to strength training
Last time was in early 2019
The first couple of times were *brutal*
But I already feel better
Not doing it for the muscles, doing for the better health
You don't need to be fancy. Follow the most common formulas and you're good to go.
The hard part is finding the words that resonate with customers. But that part becomes easy when you start doing customer research.
4. Push
Instead of pushing them to contact me or book a call, I try to push them to read further because most of the readers of the homepage aren't ready to buy yet.
PAS formula
Which means Pain — Agitate — Solution
• Solution: Bridge / Fix from BAB
• Agitate: make it as vivid as possible
Tip: agitate not also the pain, but also the dream.
BAB formula
I find the alternative formula “Pain — Dream — Fix” to be clearer.
• Before / Pain: The problem situation
• After / Dream: The solution situation
• Bridge / Fix: And the solution itself
4 Ps & AIDA formulas
Both formulas are basically the same. I find 4 Ps clearer.
• Promise / Attention: The big claim
• Picture / Interest: Paint the picture to the reader
• Proof / Desire: Back up your claims
• Push / Action: Push them to take action
Now the website is out and my productivity is getting more consistent, I'll be spending 80% of my time on content.
• Twitter & LinkedIn
• Blog posts
• Weekly newsletter
• Info-products
And I have a couple of other writing projects.
What content do you most like from me?
Business revamp update #4
The new website is out!🍾
I love what I've done both with the copy and design. What do you think?
Check it out: http://customerfitted.com
I also pruned & migrated content there from http://nicolasmerouze.com
I rarely read every word of a non-fiction book.
I get bored as the real insights could usually be condensed in a blog post.
But so many people are publishing book notes. Some are pretty meh, some are really great.
I'm turning to them more and more and find them pretty useful.
4/ Ergonomic chair
It's a major factor but doesn't do anything until everything else is fixed.
I just bought a cheap-ish chair with rave reviews and it's as good as an Herman Miller chair for posture. Not the same build quality but I don't intend to keep it for a long time.
2/ Monitor elevation
I got a wooden box to put my monitor higher.
I thought it was high enough with the standard mount but my neck was a few degrees from being totally straight.
Small detail, big difference.
4 things I've done to make my perfect ergonomic desk setup.
It took years of experimentation to identify why most advice about ergonomics didn't totally worked for me.
No more should/neck pain = better focus and more work.
🧵
The more energy I have, the more work I'm doing.
The more work I'm doing, the happier I am because I progress towards my goals.
The happier I am, the more energy I have.
That's the power of positive feedback loops.
I finally found my routine to do deep work for at least 4 hours a day.
• The right timing
• The right diet for stable blood sugar
• The right stimulant to get energy all afternoon
• The right desk setup to avoid pain
• The right workouts to recover from sitting down
My goal for Q1 2023 is to take the time to document all my processes instead of taking on consulting work.
But now I'm thinking maybe I should make info-products from these processes so I don't need consulting work.😅
I'll also be making a page for my services but something more technical than focused on selling the benefits as the homepage and case study are enough for now I think.
Less is more!
3/3
I decided to only make the case study and I'm really happy with the result.
It highlights my process, my services, and my results really well. And I think it also shows a lot about me.
I'm a big fan of case studies but never wrote one for my business.

Business revamp update #3
I thought about which pages I should make for the updated business website.
Some of the pages I thought about:
• My process/methodology
• About
• A big case study
• Services

Business revamp update #2
I took some time to look at many copywriters' websites for inspiration.
Got a few ideas to use for my website.
I'm done with the new homepage and I really like it.
DM me if you want to see the preview.
I'm starting to use voice-to-text for my journal. It's especially handy on the iPhone or iPad!
Will try to use it for work too this week.
Do any of you do that?
🙌
We chatted about:
• marketing
• SaaS businesses
• personal and life goals
It's always fun to meet your Twitter friends online.
Maybe we'll meet in person someday 😎
7 takeaways from the call that you can apply for your SaaS
🧵👇
I moved in a new flat yesterday.
So far, that's what my office looks like. I plan to:
• Add a plant because it relaxes me
• Hide cables better
• Add another storage box to put the controller
• Would like a better sound system but can't decide
Any suggestions?
My biggest achievement for 2022 was increasing my self-esteem.
🔹No more imposter syndrome, I'm done undermining my own skills
🔹Feel beautiful for the first time in my life
🔹More confidence in everything, less shy
What are you most proud of this year?
I thought I liked minimalism but I only liked the aesthetics of minimalism.
Clutter at home clutters the mind.
But I went too far and ended up with a home I didn't love and didn't want to live/work in.
My productivity and happiness took a hit.
Do you love your home?
This holiday, I've curated 50+ email conversion tactics. Applies for SaaS or any other brand.
Thinking to put this behind a pay wall ($49) but giving it away for free for first 250 folks! (I'd love feedback too)
RT + Comment "SaaSwrites" and I'll DM it to you. Must follow.
On the coaching clients I had in the last 2 months, none of them were early-stage.
Yet only 2 had strategy docs and both were done pretty recently.
That’s the playing field.
Improve & document your strategy as you run your experiments and you'll outpace everyone.
