99 smartphones are transported in a handcart to generate virtual traffic jam in Google Maps. Through this activity, it is possible to turn a green street red which has an impact in the physical world by navigating cars on another route!

🥳02/02/2020 Happy International Palindrome Day! Today is a palindromic date whether you use the MM/DD/YYYY or the DD/MM/YYYY system. The next time this happens will be 12/12/2121 so make sure you take the time to yell a nerdy HAZZAH today because that's a palindrome too!

I was working on some `:visited` styles, and couldn’t figure out why the alpha of my `hsla()` was being ignored. I moved it to `opacity` and it still was ignored… but Firefox reminded me WHY it was being ignored. Thank you, Firefox! I had somehow forgotten about those limits.

A screenshot of the Firefox Web Inspector. Next to a grayed-out `opacity: 0.1;` is a lowercase 'i' in a circle. Above that, a popup says: “It’s impossible to override opacity due to :visited restriction.” This is followed by a “Learn more” hyperlink.

When “controlling population” starts being discussed I’m always reminded of a policy introduced in Delhi during British colonial rule. The Brits were concerned about venomous cobras, so they offered a reward for people killing cobras. So people started farming cobras.

"an industry driven by young people" is such a friendly-sounding way of saying "most passionate people doing what is likely their childhood dream job leave within a decade of joining our industry"

Sounds a bit like the "SMS 2FA is vulnerable, everyone turns 2FA off". Broken/incomplete protection is still better than no protection at all.
