Right. Yeah, makes sense (at least in YT's eyes, I suppose). I wonder what the thinking is behind optimal treatment for the viewer vs. the creator. Obviously, YT needs creators to survive, but the platform is so saturated now that they may not even care.
I don't think it's a lack of care... the humans that we know at YT care very deeply about the success of creators. I think stuff like Adpocalypse has made them pretty gunshy tbh. Many MAJOR creators were in violation of new guidelines, which = lower rev for YT
It's incredibly unfriendly from a creator standpoint, and I definitely disagree with the logic (notifications are supposed to be FOR OUR VIDEOS, not FOR THE PLATFORM), but I can see why it makes sense if creators are viewed as secondary.
