@nickheer Isn't the base .js file downloaded only once and subsequent page loads (across websites) just load your local cached version?
I haven’t had the time to write down all my thoughts on AMP, but this is a start: http://pxlnv.com/linklog/ample-concern/ …

@sciwizam Sure, but it’s still what I would consider part of the page weight. All assets should be counted. -
@sciwizam Even though it may not load every time, assets should not be assumed to be cached. -
@sciwizam Also, its expiration is set at about seven hours, it appears. -
@nickheer that's unfortunate, kinda defeats the whole point of collective pool of js, analytics, tracking etc if expiration is set that low

@nickheer Are AMP pages intended for mobile browsers or native mobile rendering engines? amp.js might stopgap traditional browsers only. -
@fortybillion I have no idea. They just say that it’s optimized for mobile. -
@nickheer Easy to imagine a world where Mobile Chrome ignores (or is bundled with) those JS files and renders natively. -
@fortybillion Totally, but that feels super proprietary to me. -
@fortybillion But not standardized and primarily driven by a single player. -
@nickheer It is a deeply weird spec. More like a CMS templating language than anything else.
