The money is being doled out within weeks of the election. The explanation offered is that Labor assessed and promised this money in opposition, and that many of the promises were in Liberal seats. Just so happens though that it was almost ONLY the Liberal seats they won

The much-criticised federal sports grant scheme was $100m in total. SA’s government is handing out $84m to almost entirely Labor seats without any formal grant process.

A fundamental unfairness under SA's electoral funding laws.. independent candidates have to make their decision to run and apply for public funding on the day a by-election is called. Parties don't even preselect their candidates by that date

The SA parliament last year voted unanimously to gut ICAC. Now, it's just agreed unanimously to reinstall the MP who was the subject of an 18 month ICAC investigation into his allowance claims, back into the role of overseeing allowances.

The federal scheme has a higher disclosure cap, and donations are only published once a year, months after the money is handed over. The state scheme requires reporting of donations over $5000 within 30 days

Developers, for instance, overwhelmingly deal with state governments. However, some of the developer donations (and others) are reported under the federal disclosure scheme, not the state one.

However, the state scheme only applies to donations which are spent for state campaign purposes. So in some instances, parties can pick and choose whether gifts are used for state or federal purposes.

The biggest one, classrooms will be open to children of "essential workers, and to vulnerable children. It will be up to the parents themselves to determine whether they're in these categories. In short, if you can't safely supervise your child at home, you can send to school.
