Yes, and the media played a huge role in that as well, and still do. What no one might have imagined is the sheer horribleness of Trump has allowed politicians and media to overlook, rationalize, bury their responsibility in this

But it also has as much to do with the Romney, Bush, Rubio Republicans giving Trump the opening.

Her campaign had $6M in the bank the day after the election. That could have made a huge difference if it had been spent intelligently in the swing states. They were so smug they were saving money for the next campaign. Horrible mismanaged campaign, have Trump the office.

I think its kind of half right: Yes, Trump won mostly b/c Hillary sucked Yes, most of what characterizes Trump will end with him But the GOP will still have transformed into a Jacksonian Populist party; but not b/c of 'plutocrats', but just b/c it was an abandoned constituency

That's essentially my theory. And in office, "Trumpism" isn't an ideology either. It's bullyism, and when or if the bully loses, he'll become an object of pity and scorn more than a source of fear.https://twitter.com/DavidAFrench/status/928145607461687297?s=20 …

He had to beat 16 GOP candidates first. Trumpism is rejectionism. Will it burn out when he’s done? Will the two major parties come to terms with their rejection?
