People's minds are radically different. A lot of people have it really hard and go through small sufferings all day every day. We should have compassion and build better tools to make freeing yourself of suffering easier

The good news is you can change your mind radically, way more than it seems like should be possible. It's just either a lot of work (thousands of hours of meditation) or a lot of risk (blastoff into high-dose psychedelics) or some tradeoff between the two

Next time you’re mad at someone and find it hard to have compassion for them, remember that there’s a ~20% chance they’ve attacked themselves in the last 60 seconds, and that it’s likely they rarely if ever get a reprieve from being attackedhttps://twitter.com/nickcammarata/status/1363907938767818752 …

Interestingly I'm a 5 there (worked for years to sometimes be able to get to 4), but don't have an inner critic even though I can hear mental sounds very clearly

Learning how other people's minds work can be a mind fuck. I have an extremely vivid visual cortex that is out of control at times and was explaining it to a girl that proceeded to tell me she literally can't visualize things.
