    I just found out that GMail on iOS has been completely broken for IMAP/SMTP accounts for years, turning anything non-ASCII into ????? when sending messages. Multiple people have complained since 2018 with no answer. What the hell, ?

    Every time I think I can't respect General Hayden any more, he says "hold my beer." He was the head of both the CIA and the NSA. He knows about counter-terrorism (usually cited as the reason we need to act NOW). If he's saying encryption backdoors are a bad idea, pay attention.

    This thread does a good job of highlighting some of the complexity of in education. People get upset about bad security in education, but honestly ask yourself if you or anyone else with enough skills to make more would take this pay...

    Note that CVE-2020-0601 is a really novel and interesting flaw to talk about and follow along with. But normal people should just update their computers and go along with their day. The RDP Gateway flaw released yesterday is far more risky to the average company right now.
