Jess found that data fusion between EEG and high-resolution touch data from a pressure sensor was essential to disentangle nuanced differences in brain alpha and beta oscillations between different textures. Differences were present in electrodes over sensorimotor areas.

Tyler found encouraging data for performance of ML classification of pain outcomes, but heterogeneous reporting and risk of bias limits the potential for clinical translation. Improved standardization across the field and specialised tools for quality assurance are needed.
