I don’t know for certain. But the timing here is odd: it’s a motion for a preliminary injunction and ostensibly a matter of urgency for the state plaintiffs. The judge was also deep into the case before the oral argument. Plus, the judge is a known hard-right partisan. So...

This seems entirely believable. What's worse, that he's so politically biased as to give this BS lawsuit the time of day, or that he's holding on to the decision to shield his party from the repercussions of their policies?
