I can see suspension as warranted, but a permanent ban seems reactionary, and overtly unfair as "example-setting." More fundamentally though, it betrays the value of open dialogue many believe Twitter to be. However that fake news was uniquely toxic, and spread, well, virally.

I dislike the conspiracies (a lot). But people who want to silence dissident publications don't understand that they always have something important to contribute (even despite the noise they generate). That cost is one that society should stomach.
