This, again, is why the answer cannot be to simply vote harder. Even with majorities, Democrats are facing anti-democratic lawmakers and judges who subvert the will of the people. All of these types of anti-democratic workarounds we saw at the fall of Reconstruction.

How do you keep hope in these times? Everything is awful and going to get worse. How do you manage to stay and keep fighting? I wonder why any Black person with means would want to stay. Some of us are here bc we can't afford to leave.

We let the state gov's get taken. 10 or 20 candidates fund-raising/working to lose a federal race when there are plenty of state level races that could be won to start undoing the gerrymandering and state court-stacking the GOP has focused on for 20 years while we slept.🤷‍♂️

The answer is be aware of every opp to vote. Know when your city, co & state hold elections for any/all positions. Learn abt candidates, cast your vote. Ppl are elected to school boards, utility & planning etc commissions, judges, legislature. Put candidates you support in office
