        Black people could not buy tickets to white-only venues where Black people performed. Eat at white-only restaurants where Black people cooked. Dance on AMerican Bandstand. Have their records played on white radio stations. Use the public library. Swim at public pools.

        And you all want to complain about teachers and writers and companies asking how a society that would treat Black people this way for 350 years, and only stopped after the Black rights struggled made us a global embarrassment, might still struggle with systemic racism? Whew.

        In my hometown (Mississippi) the cemeteries are still segregated between black, white and Jewish .

        Why am I learning this now as a grown adult. Teach it to the kids. Germans are made aware about the Holocaust from Kindergarten. We need to teach our history of Slavery, Native genocide and color politics
