Meet Trooper Joseph Butler Jr. - SP Machias. He recently saved a woman trapped in a house fire, unable to escape in her wheelchair. He forced his way into the home, found her by listening to her calls for help, and pushed her to safety and medical attention.

The Watertown Police Department is investigating a death outside of 305 Gotham St. A man was found unresponsive on a sidewalk at the front entrance of an apartment building at about 5:22 a.m. Saturday. Further details have not been released at this time.

Upstate University Hospital is restricting visitors to protect our staff and vulnerable patients. Visitors with cough, sore throat, fever, flu-like symptoms are not permitted. Children under 18 are restricted from visiting at this time. Only two healthy visitors per patient.

A section of Water Street between Marble Street and Jain Irrigation is closed due to an accident reported at 2:13 a.m. Wednesday. A National Grid crew is on scene repairing a utility pole. Further details have not been released by the Watertown Police Department.
