Editor Iwasaki was asked about if the rumor that there will be 120 volumes is true (likely taken from Oda's statement that vol. 60 marks the halfway point). He says the volume number isn't set in stone yet, but confirms once again the story is indeed heading towards its endingpic.twitter.com/63CZy8t5Nq

Iwasaki also says the number of years the manga has left, but the TV show decided to censor it for some reason. Oda's statement earlier this August was that the manga had 4~5 years leftpic.twitter.com/6XplAFZd5F

Also to be fair didn't Oda also say it would end just after 100 volumes

Oda said the manga would go "a bit over 100 volumes". A "bit" is such a variable definition that it could be anything from 101 to 140 really, so I don't think that statement really means much

The story’s been “heading toward its ending” since chapter 1. 😅

One Piece is one of those stories that you want to know the ending and at the same time, you don't want it to end. Truly, one of a kind.

I know only one manga that has over 120 volumes (not "episodic, so Kochikame doesn't count) is Hajime no Ippo, about to reach Volume 130 (planning to read it too) Do you think OP will surpass HNI in volumes (at least the 2020 mark of 129)

even if it's just 120 Volumes it will take more than 5 years easily.

Yeah like 6 and 1/4 years and that’s without the breaks that will accumulate
