Addicts kill themselves, pain sufferers don’t chew 100 mil grm tablets at a moments availability! 8-12 hr doses 2-3 times a day is normal pain mngmt. Fentnyl is so deadly for high-ons!

As a chronic back pain sufferer it’s hard to not take opiates even when I don’t want to. If the pharm industry would come up with an alternative that’d be nice. Except it would cost more than insurance would pay. Catch 22

What you fail to mention is the pathway people take from Rx opioids to street. Sure fentanyl is part of the problem but dealing with it in purely punitive way is in no way going to help.

There is complexity here. While dealing with opioid misuse we can't deny access to those legitimately in pain & in need of these medications. My boys lost their dad on Trump's inauguration day because he couldn't get meds & could no longer take the pain.https://www.nationalreview.com/2017/01/my-stepsons-father-killed-himself-painkillers-denied-life-not-worth-living/ …

Criminalizing addictions that began when doctors prescribed drugs that the drug companies claimed weren't addictive. Narrator: The opioids made by these drug companies was highly addictive.
