It's not an edge if Trump doesn't know what he's doing or how to use it. He doesn't know how to use it. The oil boom means fewer imports, and greater reliance on natural gas, which means less reliance on coal. Oil boom means natgas boom, which means end of coal.

Oil boom also means that other countries will do all they can to depress price because US oil is more costly to extract, and higher oil prices means more money flows to rivals and enemies. Trump doesn't understand any of this.
