Actually, being able to shuttle supplies to a moon orbiter or base would lessen the need for the heavy lift capabilities to escape the earth's atmosphere and gravity.

My grandfather’s lifespan saw us go from Kitty Hawk to the moon. When he passed, I felt a profound loss of that connection to history. I was 3 when Sputnik was launched...I want to see us get to Mars. So much to gain for mankind
