What are you now, some kind of technical genius? Did AT&T fail because their IT department is a monoculture of cheap, third world "high tech " fraudulent scammers? Like Boeing, they're paying the price for letting American technical workers be replaced by disloyal scammers.
If AT&T had spent $85 billion creating a worldwide 5G network the United States would be a decade ahead of Huawei and the Chinese strategy would have failed. Now AT&T has to oppose dramatic 5G US effort because its debt is too great to compete. Sad!

Keep in mind that China’s Huawei & ZTE are equipment providers while AT&T is a network operator (& media company). Sweden’s Ericsson, Finland’s Nokia and S. Korea’s Samsung are the competitors to ZTE&Huawei, not AT&T or Verizon. Lucent, Nortel & Motorola were sold off years ago.
