If McCarthy was serious about posturing properly, he’d call the House back into session *before* the election and vote on all these proposals. Also, he'd promise to put this in the budget bill. Then he might actually have a chance of being speaker instead of minority leader.

McCarthy put 71 bills on the floor to "Address the opioid crisis" mainly hurting pain patients without a single bill dealing with immigration and sanctuaries. He blocked solid bills that passed judiciary for years. Now that the game is over, he throws a ceremonial pass.
