Le fait que ça ait été publié au SSTIC dans un créneau de plus de 15 minutes ne me semble pas anodin. J'aurais espéré que ce soit un gage de qualité qui me permette de faire le tri dans les 10+ projets/outils qui prétendent faire la même chose.

If you force people to switch to a specific hypervisor, your debugger will have a much slower adoption rate. I support you work of having good VMI APIs in VirtualBox upstream. Now we need a team of devs to carry on the research to production ready.

I agree that the situation is not ideal. The VMI ecosystem cannot grow without a VMI ready, cross-platform hypervisor, and the required abstractions to let developers focus on application development without having to care about low-level plumbing APIs.

There are many hypervisors already ( https://github.com/google/gvisor https://github.com/google/novm and https://chromium.googlesource.com/chromiumos/platform/crosvm/ … to name a few) but they are focused on running containers. The reverse engineering / stealth debugging use case is way too narrow to gain traction.
