Also on the feeders this morning: wood pigeon, blackbirds, jackdaws, bullfinch family, tits (blue, great and coal), greenfinch, and - my personal favourite - a nuthatch. The local pheasant has now turned up to chase the jackdaws and behave like a sort of flamboyant Roomba.

Some months ago now I decided to make an effort not to tweet things that would add to the general level of anxiety and despair on the timeline. Today, all I have to say is that I have seen a dunnock in our new garden for the first time. It was small and very pleasingly round.

What I’d like is ideally: - OmniFocus’ duration, deferral, review & perspective systems - Todoist’s ease of entry, cross-platform nature & colour-based styling - Things’ understanding of what mornings are I’ve ended up in Remember The Milk, which mostly works, but I miss OF.

Once again I’m futzing with my todo system and I find myself asking the question: is there any way to make OmniFocus usable on the web in the year of our lord 2022?

IMPORTANT: Many reporting the new price cap is £3,549/yr. That is not correct. 1. There is no actual cap on the max you can pay. 2. What's capped is standing charges and unit rates (i'll publish em shortly) 3. £3,549 is the cap for those on average use, Direct Debit, Dual fuel.

things I have tried to explain to increasingly perplexed moving lads today: - the worm colony - succulents - the 2006 Nerf Longshot CS-6 & its relevance to our wedding - podcasting - the small pile of miscellaneous buttons that go BAAAP BAAAP which keeps in his cupboard

In news that is both a long time coming and also very sudden, we’re moving to Sheffield at the end of this week. Does anyone have suggestions about how to transport a thriving worm colony for several hours on a train?

For the second time tonight has astounded me - with a “make your own ScotRail beats” generator

If you're still awake, and you enjoyed this, and you like low-fi ambient beats to relax/study to, and you like trains, and you like Scotland, then you might like matteason.co.uk/scotbeats/ Relax to Scottish train announcements over low-fi beats or whatever YouTube music you want

anecdotal signs of Meta decline: I’ve moved on from helping ageing parent to sign up for Facebook, to working out why they have two accounts (“why do I have different pictures on my phone and on the computer?”), to talking them through how to delete both accounts completely

Untitled, Cat Sitter (2022) - Glass, foil, organic materials This experimental piece toys with the idea of preservation - in freezing the milk to deny it the opportunity to rot, it has been imbued with an energy that goes so far as the destroy its container.

Gen Con was absolutely fantastic. Feel like I didn’t even scratch the surface but still met so many lovely people in person, loads for the first time. It has been a much-needed tonic and a very exciting time.

After much shenanigans it’s looking increasingly likely that we will actually live in Sheffield from September. Please send me recommendations of things to explore (I am already aware of Trippets, Smoke and Holly Hagg alpaca farm)

my copy of the Alleyman’s Tarot arrived recently and it’s made me wonder: has anyone done the same one-card-from-each-deck type mix-match approach to those corporate ideation toolkit card decks yet?
