ADC employees and work crews to be screened as they enter the prisons, but absent any other details, as we reported earlier this week this screening most likely consists of a few basic questions like "have you recently traveled to Wuhan, China"pic.twitter.com/IrI3SvgOcF

"Wardens are also taking part in regular ongoing meetings w/leadership to ensure robust availability of soap, paper towels, hygiene items, and cleaning agents for both inmates and staff" - previously inmates were forced to use their own bath soap and towels to clean their cells

This action comes after a Federal Judge ordered ADC to respond to inmate attorneys who asked for a more detailed Coronavirus plan for AZ prisons - their response is due today and hopefully it will provide more details, I will update when it hits the dockethttps://kjzz.org/content/1488571/federal-judge-orders-arizona-department-corrections-create-detailed-coronavirus-plan …

Yes it's true - inmates have to pay for their own personal hygiene supplies and yes - inmates in Arizona prisons are forced to pay $4 copays just to see a nurse

Wait, wait, wait! Inmates had co-pays!?! WTH? We should not taking people into custody if we are unable or unwilling to take care of them! Good lord, people!

Yep. Not uncommon. They have them in Texas too - and as of last night they had not yet suspended them.

This pandemic has been eye-opening. Essentially, inmates, who are being used for slave labor (watch #13th) are charged for every single basic necessity while prisons/corporations make a profit. BTW, most of the prisoners are black and/or poor. #Injustice

And everything they have to buy is at a huge mark-up. My friends son was in a state prison and I saw the catalog that they bought clothing from. Astronomical prices for everything from underwear to sneakers!
