Clue is in the name, it is a basic standard of living for all citizens. Want a life that is better than the basic standard, of course you do, so you'll work... safe in the knowledge that IF your circumstances change and you can't work life will be OK.

Indeed, but it depends on the individual. E.g. MMT may give a recipient the time & space to delve into a passion (hobby) that could become a viable business in time. Living on basic budget today is doable. Sharing economy makes it viable. With data, phone, laptop much is possible

No mention in the entire article of the cost to whoever is paying this. At the same rate, it would cost UK £400 bn p.a. Even offsetting some savings, presumably, such as unemployment benefit, it’s totally unaffordable.
