I'm unsure whether there are provisions/contingencies in place for problems such as these, but would expect polling station staff to help
-
Would be interesting to find out if they're expected/prepared to do so - supermarket-style approach to spare w/c would be pretty easy...
-
There's definitely an argument that the building should simply be accessible to begin with. There should never be any barriers to democracy.
-
Accessible definitely, (minimum needed to be compliant with law), going beyond by understanding what info needed etc would be even better

Yeah mobility scooters can't do steps. Get a ramp, and get the station audited by someone w broad based knowledge of access measures
-
Oh what a good idea - I see a student research project in the offing ...
@HSciences#occupationaltherapy
-
If that works, but only if they've got relevant expertise! Dunno what norms and resources are here, finding that out would be good
-
The occupational therapists taught access/law/audits but opportunities/reasons to apply to this particular issue would be brill learning and
-
would need to be collaborative with local groups etc - politics in action ....
-
Sounds like an incredibly synchronicitous space for some fruitful collaboration all round since I wonder re budgets for expertise here

Love that we've got to this point in less than 10 tweets too! Amazing!
