One thing I really like about this paper is how they deal with the whole-brain data. How can we make sense of it? The approach here is to find spaces that the whole brain enters in certain phases of the task (olfactory stimulus, thirsty/not) and see how it evolvespic.twitter.com/P5HnN0g3NA

It would be really cool if they could then use this to see if there were times where the brain state "looks" like it is thirsty even when it has had enough water - are these dynamics that promote a certain type of behavior?
