I'll have to go through my list a little more thoroughly but 5 star books this year were: - Great Transformation (Polanyi) - Rings of Saturn (Sebald) - A Brief History of Seven Killings* (James) - House of Suns (Reynolds) - Red/Green/Blue Mars (KSR) - Invention of Nature (Wulf)
-
... oops and: - Bad Blood (Carreyrou) - The Long Ships (Bengtsson)
-
I'm reading The Long Ships now, very entertaining. Also good book for reading in episodes amidst other books.
-
Yeah The Long Ships is great (and hilarious)! I was surprised, had never heard of it before (though I realized afterwards I've seen the end of the cheesy 60s movies on TNT a few times...)

Wow, that's insane! I kept at ~40 for a few years (although this year plummeted to ~20 for baby / gaming / self-education / stress-level reasons). 40 was hard enough, but 60 is insanely good!
-
I think it's mostly about having a long commute and lots of audiobooks I think when I commuted by bus in grad school I was probably ~40 but not sure!

I think 1 book / week is the optimal number . Would be cool to see what people think the break point is
-
I think it depends on the book... when it's something that's easy to read, ~2 books/week is not so bad imho

What activities are you occupied with while listening to audiobooks?
-
mostly driving to work (1 hour commute each way) but also when I'm doing some of the more boring-but-rote stuff in biology (separating flies, aliquoting liquids etc)

Which app/social media/platform is this?

Thanks! Apparently it has different looks in other parts of the world... Great job, btw!
