You can predict your next day's mood with 80% accuracy using wrist-trackers (!!) https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-018-07181-8 …pic.twitter.com/VcgXAJ7p0a

I do a lot of self-report mood tracking and haven't quantified yet (planning on GLM'ing everything) but definitely noticed that morning mood is predictive of average of rest of day's mood More dynamic fluctuations tend to be experience-dependent

Unclear if these wrist monitors can beat (and by how much) previous self-reported mood (still trying to download gated article)...

Finally found the preprint .pdf (below): Findings are complex (many variables as predictors) but seem not to control for / compare with previous self-reported mood variables (not their focus, apparently)... https://dam-prod.media.mit.edu/x/2018/01/05/PrePrint-PredictingTomorrowsMoods.pdf …

"Since tomorrow’s mood is often similar to today’s mood, we need more research to be able to clearly decouple these two phenomena. It is possible that current forecasting technologies are mostly predicting spillover emotion from one day to the next"
