My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

Imagine announcing joyous family news and 2/3 of the replies come from hateful bot / sock puppet accounts. Many are easy to spot: no profile pic, name with a string of letters, 10 tweets and less than 150 followers, etc. The astroturfing in SF politics is disgusting.pic.twitter.com/lnUyKbyVTr

Twitter's at fault too. They allow what gets more people coming. All sorts of misleading information from suspicious accounts, not to mention the hate. I've reported these accounts & gotten very little. Also, WTF can't I edit a tweet when I make an error?

I'm not sure I trust the trolls with a edit function, Like I am not sure that there should be a delete button. Permanence of the network seems valuable/important.

I just want to be able to edit my own tweets when I make mistakes. The way it is now, I have to delete & repost. I think it should be a function available only for one's own tweets, but I see what you're saying--I could write something really shitty & then edit!

Or IMO more importantly revise what you have said in a deliberately dishonest way.
