My heart is bursting. On the eve of my first child's birth, my dad - who's been in prison nearly my entire life - was granted clemency. He never intended harm, yet his crime devastated many families. My heart breaks for the families that can never get their loved ones back.

Because of a recognition on how the rule was used primarily for political oppression and the likely injustice it meant, his parents would have no longer been charged with Murder. As Felony murder is no longer used in our judicial system.

Which is why I said has been recognized, and would no longer be charged with murder. They don't fit the definition of murderer from today's legal perspective.
