Can we please #RecallNewsom so we don’t have to listen to his bad acting anymore? He fist-bumps with @chesaboudin, appoints Boudin pals to state positions, then blames non-existent Republicans for failing to enforce the law. He’s the problem folks.https://twitter.com/citizenj17/status/1425956237317836805 …

The argument I’ve seen against the recall is that the ppl who are on the ballot to take over are far less qualified and would require far fewer ppl to be voted into office. Thoughts?

If you are so disliked you can be beaten by a relatively unknown person with less experience, you kinda had it coming. If most people vote to keep Gavin, he keeps his job. That shouldn’t be hard if he’s actually done a satisfactory job, esp in a democratic state like CA

That's his point though I think, the person with the most votes should win, and newsom will likely have more yes votes than any other candidate. However his odds of re election are middling, this is a undemocratic outcome.

If he has more yes votes, he will keep his job. I’m confused. I thought that was obvious? Is that not how it works?

It is not. For example Q1 keep newsome, Yes: 45 No: 55 Q2 Kevin: 25 Repub1:25 Repub2:25 R3:15 ... Kevin wins but newsom got 20 more votes in this above example.

If Newsom and Kevin were in a primary for instance, many more would pick newsom... Asked another way, is there any chance that Kevin will have majority support upon taking office? Might he also likely be subject to a recall? Should Newsom be able to run in such a case?
