3 felonies a day that probably don’t result in anyone’s death. Sorry, Chesa’s parents deserved what they got.

That is so mean. People make mistakes. We have more people in prison than any other country. We are a fearful, unforgiving society that keeps us from seeing the social, economic, and moral costs of incarceration and lifelong punishment.https://bit.ly/3zKG7mS

“That is so mean”. “Mean” is participating in crime that left 3 people dead. Like Chesa’s parents did.

They weren't armed and never intended to harm anyone. Compassion and forgiveness are good, actually.

They never meant to harm anyone…and yet, 3 people died. Why would parents of a toddler participate in such a high risk incident? I’ll never get that. They ruined so many lives.

75 yrs in prison. They got radically different sentences for doing the same thing, so how can you say they got what they deserved? Some folks get 10 yrs for robbery. Sentencing is arbitrary.

I agree that sentencing is wildly unfair across the board. But that’s the only part of your comment I agree with. The Weathermen were a violent group, their tactics included bombings and other things that endangered life. It is sad for a child to grow up with parents in prison

But Boudin’s parents were not unfairly imprisoned. My understanding is that the father wouldn’t take a plea, which is why he got a longer sentence.

My understanding is like with all too much of the American judicial system, lawyers and money played a role in the different outcomes.https://twitter.com/ChasingPodcast/status/1291131745455267842?s=20 …
