I agree, I don't want prisons. I want them gone. Even in the highest crime demographic, a majority don't resort to crime, right? I think our supportive system has the unfortunate side effect of not hurting them enough to change. Renounce citizenship and live free elsewhere.

Of those I think 2,3 need attention from whatever our criminal justice system is, but I would hope for a less expensive and more creative solution than incarceration for both of them. 1,4 should get no response in my view from our criminal justice system.

They clearly should be testing prisoners, and with priority but I don't think this places you in a sufficiently different circumstances that congregate settings like jails or prisons are safe or much safer for society to operate thanks to the risks made evident by covid.
