Since I took office we've filed nearly 80% of drug sales cases SFPD gives us - but almost all are low-level. I'm glad to see my demand for kilos not crumbs from SFPD has finally paid off. We must more effectively disrupt supply and shrink demand with treatment to save lives.https://twitter.com/SanFranciscoPOA/status/1323436304676237313 …
Prosecuting low level drug offences is a dysfunctional and counterproductive reaction to drug usage. Promoting higher prices, and leading to increased availability, we must behave intelligently to alter the circumstances of this market , not further promote lawlessness.

Very idealist but doesn’t pan out. Addicts can’t harm reduce! If they could, they wouldn’t be an addict. They need treatment, not turning a blind eye and enabling, which is what is happening in SF.

Harm reduction is directed at the needs and experiences of those with substance use disorder. Harm reduction is not directed at the needs of normal citizens. Definitionally only the addicts need access or can be helped by harm reduction.
