Here’s a basic one: mental health calls should receive immediate response from trained mental health professionals, not the police. It’s something we wrote into our Mental Health SF legislation. It’s long overdue. Let’s accelerate implementation.

Same with homelessness. We have police doing all sorts of things they shouldn’t be doing, most often causes more problems than it solves.

And the Police would be the first to agree with you that they shouldn't be the majority of outreach to the homeless population. What is the outlook with the grim forecast of budget conditions for expanding outreach on the street? That must be a big concern.

Huge concerns. I’m worried about how we’re gonna do it. We needed to implement mental health sf but we are gonna be cutting Dept of Public Health. I’m working on more revenue, we won’t get a better system with 25% cuts across the board. It’d be ugly.

Defund the police!
@chesaboudin for all his virtues is not responsible for doing so, yet more than 55000 people have asked him and his @SFDAOffice to do so in the last days, via twitter.https://twitter.com/chesaboudin/status/1269089684484833280 …
