SF has got a lot of praise for our early action, taken alongside other counties, and I appreciate the leadership of Mayor Breed and DPH. Still, this article shows that Bay Area counties have had lower rates, and greater decreases over the last week. https://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/Charts-show-what-the-coronavirus-curve-15204108.php …

"The Bay Area’s cases seem to have peaked in early April & either leveled off or declined since. Four of the five largest counties show similar paths. The only county that has seen an increase since start of April is SF where the chart shows the outbreak may not yet have peaked"

A large part of the reason for this seems to be due to increases among our unhoused population, shelter outbreak, SRO residents. This is one of the reasons why we have been so focused on this population. SF increasingly becoming an outlier in the Bay Area. Let's flatten the curve

I do very much support and appreciate the early action taken by Mayor Breed and DPH, and coordination with other counties. This was critical, particularly in comparison to other parts of the country. We have to continue to be proactive and preventative.
