A lot of people love to mock the idea that a lot of these white kids fall in with the alt-right because they feel alienated from the culture, but here comes a pretty good case study in how our insane modern culture can drive people to the fringes.

This is an odd non-sequitur. I'm not trying to assign blame. I'm trying to identify where we can do better to address the reasons people are attracted to these kinds of groups. The same goes for stuff like radical Islam, for instance.https://twitter.com/JurisDudence/status/1125418142874968064 …

Exactly what I've been telling people. The rise of the alt-right is because of the crazy SJW leftists. If you're told you're evil because of your race and gender then maybe you'll start believing it.

Also if you are constantly told to "take account of your whiteness" you might actually start seeing white as your primary identity.

The article mentions the Iron Cross as if it’s a nazi symbol, but it’s not entirely true. In facts it’s still used by the German Army to this very day. It may not be as common anymore, but it’s certainly not a swastika.

“I liked them because ....They took me seriously. No one ever took me seriously—not you, not my teachers, no one.” There was a parenting & teaching failure here. Adults & children desire to be heard--it's not about agreeing it's about being respectful & treating ppl w/ dignity

The first section of that piece was a nightmare. I can only imagine what I would have had to say to the supposed "adults" abusing my kid like that.
