I think what people want to say about Leo is that living a good life involves settling down with someone and raising a family rather than dating a rotating cast of young women but that idea is so badly out of style that people reach for implausible abuse claims instead.

Good character development in this episode. Was happy to see Melanie Lynskey. I Don’t Feel At Home in this World Anymore is very underrated. #TheLastOfUs

"Actual American Jews"?
Quote Tweet
There are 24 Jewish members of the current US House of Representatives. Of those 24, 22 of them, or 91.6%, voted against stripping committee assignments from Ilhan Omar. Tell me again how this is about what actual American Jews want.

His first point is stronger than his second. Saturation attacks are what Hamas does now in an attempt to overwhelm Iron Dome, and so keeping it well equipped is vital.

I don't understand the point this thread is trying to make. This is a wildly different application. Not to mention that balloons have less atmospheric distortion and unless a Chinese satellite is in geostationary orbit over the US, you also get coverage that is less sporadic.

The headline of this piece is an argument I don't entirely disagree with. I do think we need to increase the bar of severity for offenses that require active stops by armed police. This is also better for the cops!

Sam Harris' covid utilitarianism is motivated by the same "I know better than you plebs" attitude that drove the public health apparatus' Noble Lie strategy, and look where that got us.
Quote Tweet
In his new podcast episode, Sam Harris calls out @DrJBhattacharya, saying it was “not an accident Jay was perceived as a fringe figure” given his supposedly wild under-estimation of Covid deaths in the U.S. I’m recording a podcast with @DrJBhattacharya tomorrow to discuss this.

CCP officials fired the head of the Chinese weather service in a move meant to substantiate their claims the balloon was tracking weather. There’s a catch, though: he was already scheduled to leave because he “won” elective office in late January.

Yes, pointing guns at the balloon is ‘performative nonsense.’ But so is co-hosting a podcast that is ranked #200 in a vague sub-genre.

Regular audiences loved Infinity War and Endgame - two of the most convoluted comic booky type comic book movies out there. Having an Elseworlds Batman and a DCU Batman isn't a Quantum Mechanical superposition. General audiences will be fine with it.

I'm starting to get a little annoyed at geeks who are like "HOW WILL REGULAR AUDIENCES BE ABLE TO COMPREHEND TWO DIFFERENT BATMAN CONTINUITIES AT ONCE???" Shut up, nerds. It's not that complicated.

I finally saw the full trailer for it and despite giving away more than I'd like, it also made me want to see whereas the mysterious teaser did not, so I guess I'm torn on whether the trailer giving a way some stuff is good or bad.

Have you seen Knock at the Cabin yet? It was surprisingly good. At the theater I chose it over Infinity Pool at the literal last minute and I’m glad I did.

I wanted to love INFINITY POOL but overall it's just ok. I mean the first half is terrific, and Cronenberg Jr. definitely knows how to make a film, but it descended into a bit of an incoherent mess by the end and I think any message he had kinda got lost.
