I joke a lot about Ising model brain but it actually is a great intuition-building tool and should be used more to teach things like "creating new variables by local averaging increases correlations"

They have no way of interpreting how the viral load of sewage translates to numbers infected, but it's still interesting that the spike in RNA preceded the diagnoses like that
