You want to talk about
scientifically inaccurate movies?
Don't start me on 'Deep Impact'
And as for 'Armageddon'...
Well, let's just say Bruce Willis
isn't on my Xmas card list

One of my favorite questions from when “Armageddon” was in theaters: Wouldn’t it have been easier to teach astronauts to drill rather than teach a ragtag group of drillers to be astronauts?
-
Ben Affleck apparently said that to Michael Bay during production, and was told to shut up.
-
Drilling is obviously too much of an art....and science....
-
Find the Ben Affleck commentary on it if you can, it's amazing
-
Honestly, given the limited time frame and the relative complexity of the operation of a drilling rig, it's not that ridiculous to have a mission specialists. Now, what business did Sandra Bullock have making repairs to a satellite as a medical engineer, that's a better question.

Oh my god! Why are you obsessed with stuff like this.

Someone has to be

Ok but it still seems like a tiny detail of the movie that probably would be missed by most movie goers & not something that would have an impact on the story
-
Also Easter eggs in media have little or zero to do with the plot. Yet they're some of the most analyzed parts.
