To know enough to know what you don't know. It's fun to be young enough to think you've got it all figured out, then it's daunting to realize how much you don't know or had wrong, then it's comforting, even thrilling to know that you'll never run out of cool stuff to learn.

I think Science Literacy should be a required course in the final years of HS where they explore these concepts

I don't agree. I believe the mindset for critical scientific thinking should be encouraged at a much younger age (primary school), so that the right mindset is already there before complex information is taught (secondary and later)

Yea, I guess I should be more ambitious. Supposedly, middle school is the point at which young minds are at the age where they are the stickiest...meaning that what they learn sticks well into adulthood

The world could use a lot more capacity--and willingness--to fairly evaluate evidence. And not just in scientific settings. As you know, we have been heading down a road that actually devalues facts and expertise.

Sadly true. We must support public education, teaching facts not fantasy, math not myth.
