He now knows all of the secrets of the universe. But somehow I think that he knew them all along. RIP Professor Hawking.

He's probably going "Huh, so that how it all works and comes together. It's so deceptively simple and we are wrong about everything. Bugger. You have to see it from the outside."

If I were to go on a walk with anyone in whatever state awaits us after life, it would be him.
-
"Walking around" the irony

-
You gotta know the first thing he did was stand up though.
-
Who'd give him legs? He was an atheist. According to his own beliefs he's in the ground feeding worms.https://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/25/stephen-hawking-atheist_n_5882860.html …

Good job god doesn't discriminate in what you believe in and bases everything on who you are, what you do and what you say

i’m devastated that he never won a nobel prize for hawking radiation.
-
He didn’t need a prize of any kind. He was a prize/gift to the world!
-
its still nice to get a medal every once in a while, mari

Or a cookie

Nobel Prize is given because your research or discovery delivers to humanity a great contribution I do think so Hawking's radiation is an outstanding improvement to theoretical physics, but it is no practical so far. Maybe he will receive a post mortem Nobel.
-
Nobel prizes are only awarded to living recipients.
-
I never said they do. I said «maybe». And perhaps in a few decades his work will be finally proved and they will consider a post mortem Nobel for the first time ever. I only expressed my wishes.
-
Not attacking, just informing. Given that a. Nobels are not awarded posthumously and b. His work has no practical application yet, I just don't think it's realistic is all. Brilliant man? Absolutely. Just doesn't fit for this precise award.

Actually, Resting in Peace would indicate an identity existing beyond death that would be able to "rest" or have a sense of peace. I'm surprised that someone who so often corrects others on science would embrace such a religious viewpoint.
-
Wait, there’s more. I say “bless you” to sneezes. I say "goodbye" (from God-Be-With-You) to those who leave. I say “Godspeed" to astronaut friends about to launch. And I gleefully use BC & AD. (p.s. I’d bet you use the term “sunrise" even though you know Earth is what turns.)
-
I was thinking what this guy said. There are a lot of “Metaphysical quaisi-religious references on this post. I really believe we all believe in something more than the physical... I hear “energy, cosmos”, and afterlife references... So RIP AND GOD BLESS!!
-
Also I wanted to add that my Mom passed away from ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease 20 years ago!! So even though I believe differently than Mr Hawking, I pray for his family’s comfort and wish him God Speed.
