@neiltyson Read that every galaxy has a black hole at its center. In science, I try to avoid "every". Are there no other possibilities? :-o

Golden ages are a factor in all living things~ Time waits for no Man, World, Galaxy, Solar system, and of course the UNIVERSES at the Equation of 186,000 miles per second ..!

do black holes have to be at the centre of a galaxy. in my mind there are numerous massive stars that could be black holes when they die
-
1. They don't have to be. 2. Yes, you're correct.
-
while entertaining that. when a star becomes a black hole, obviously some celestial bodies will be sucked in. so will that distort the galaxy?
