If matter rotates faster than breakup speed, then it cannot gravitationally coalesce to form moons, planets, stars, or anything else in the Universe.https://twitter.com/RobScherme/status/948052305982582784 …

Related (fixed) question. If earth rotated about 18x faster, would we be weightless at the equator? If yes, could a planet like this come into existence?

Neil I have a question: What if the sun was a black hole? (and the black hole remained the same size as the sun, obviously having way more mass than our star)

It would likely come and wash away the rain. Also, as the Earth loses its primary source of heat and energy, we’d all die. Which is fine because we’d all fall into said hole.

we actually wouldn't fall in. the mass of the sun would be unchanged and therefore the gravitational attraction and earths orbit unchanged. but wed freeze of course

The question specifically said the size would be the same and therefore the mass much bigger. A quick Google search doesn’t show much analysis of the consequences of this specific tradeoff.

You need to add "according to known laws of physics" when you say something like this Niel. I mean the universe is only INFINITE.
